Having miss Demi as a part of our program has been a dream of mine ever since I found her by stalking Bev Davies her breeder lol. Not only is she a beautiful 13" girl she also has a truly gorgeous pedigree and is a piece of history brought forward being out of a frozen breeding herself from a Daragoj dog I have admired in my research. When I heard Bev was struggling to decide who to breed her to I jumped at the chance to be apart of the solution. We knew we would need a stud who was a bit of an outcross to bring in some new traits and genetic diversity to Demi's side but we also wanted to have a line breeding somewhere back in the pairing to tie in with and preserve the lines that Demi has brought forward.

Peppe was the perfect option and through fate was in need of a temporary home and a ride back to Washington both of which we were happy to provide. His pedigree compliments Demi's beautifully by being mostly an outcross but also a line breeding on Daragoj Matter of Time (Demi's sire) who is in Peppe's fourth and sixth generations as well. Physically they complimented each others strenghts and weaknesses while still sharing a similar moderate style.

After a textbook pregnancy Demi delivered 6 puppies (4 girls and 2 boys) via emergency c-section due to anemia that rendered her unable to successfully contract or push. Not ideal situation but we were so grateful everyone made it through safely thanks to our awesome veterinary team. We couldn't believe how generous Demi was with the selection of girls and knew we would have our work cut out for us in selecting a keeper especially when all the puppies had such lovely consistent heads from day 1. The litter stayed very consistent throughout each week with us and in the end we had to get pretty picky with what we were looking for in our keeper. In the end little miss Ouija (now Ophelia) ended up checking the most boxes to stay here at Kvell. However we were luck enough to have a few other breeder homes interested in pieces of this pedigree so three out of the six puppies ended up in breeder/show homes. Another puppy went off to be trained in narcotics/GSR detection and the other two went to very loving pet homes.

We are so grateful for the trust that was placed in us to bring these old established lines forward into the present day and are thrilled to co-own our keeper with Bev Davies of Waskasoo beagles. We look forward to seeing how these puppies perform in the show ring and their other endeavors!
