Our thought process behind this pairing started off with us knowing we would have to out source for a male since we did not own a male of our own and we were looking to bring in something different that could help improve on some of Poppy's faults in her puppies, mainly her lack or rear angle and neck and also to improve on movement. Catcher has consistently given these exact traits to his offspring so it was kind of an obvious match. ​

Poppy and Catcher both have wonderful personalities. Poppy has an incredibly stable temperament and is an amazing ambassador for the breed. She handles any new environment with ease and has never met a stranger. She is very easy to live with.​ Catcher is a gentle patriarch to his pack at Foxfire and even took our own new boy Retro under his wing during his short stay there. He is known to be quite the jokester and occasionally a loud mouth. We enjoyed meeting him at the Canada Beagle National in August and Poppy seemed to like him as well. He has showmanship and carries himself very proudly which is something we would love to see in their puppies.​

Overall we expected this pairing to produce excellent temperaments for some stable, confident but easy to live with puppies. ​

On Dec. 16th 2023 Poppy brought her one beautiful son into the world via planned c-section and officially made us breeders. He taught us so much as our very first puppy and somehow came out sporting the best of each of his parents.
